A Chilean prostitute has auctioned 27 hours of sex to raise money for the country’s largest charity during an annual fund-raising campaign.
Maria Carolina became an overnight celebrity in the conservative Roman Catholic country, making news headlines and appearing on talk shows since she made her unusual donation to the televised charity event, which runs for 27 hours starting on Friday evening.
“I’ve already auctioned off the 27 hours of love,” Maria Carolina told Reuters on Wednesday, saying she had raised about $4,000. “One of my clients already paid. It seemed like a good deed to him.”
Adult prostitution is legal in Chile. Chile’s two-day Teleton fundraiser is endorsed by television stars and aims to raise funds for poor, disabled children. Read the rest of this entry…

Google is planning to launch a new online service dubbed “Gdrive“, where users will be allowed to securely store their PC data online.
The service will allow users to store data such as Office docs, digital music, video clips, and images from their PC hard drives onto the online storage space to be offered by Google.
The stored data will be available for access to users through the Internet on different PCs and mobile phones. It will also be available for sharing files with friends after signing-in with a password, as and when required.
However, the storage space and expansion options being made available to users have not been revealed yet.
The online storage service is no news as rumors about “Gdrive” have been doing the rounds of industry for quite sometime now.
There are concerns being raised about the privacy of data and copyright issues, because content will be stored online, which can lead to illegal sharing of it.
According to Google though, data privacy has been addressed with the utmost sensitivity, and extensive safeguards have been put in place to protect user data.
“Gdrive” is just a few months away from release.

Booming demand for Internet services combined with insufficient infrastructure investment could leave the Web vulnerable to brown outs within three years, a study released Tuesday predicted.
Nemertes Research said Internet providers need to invest from $42 billion to $55 billion — or 60% to 70% more than current plans call for — to stave off interruptions to the digital economy that could happen if the ‘Net bogs down.
“The next might not arise” if the situation isn’t fixed, Nemertes said. The problem, the group said, is that is outpacing infrastructure build outs. While core fiber and switching/routing technology “will scale nicely,” Internet access resources could soon be overwhelmed in three to five years, Nemertes said.
The trouble could be particularly acute in North America, the researchers said.
“Rather like osteoporosis, the underinvestment in infrastructure will painlessly and invisibly leach competitiveness out of the economy,” said Nemertes.

Did you know there is a condition called trichophagia. That is when someone likes to eat his/her HAIR..bleah..
New England Journal of Medicine details the case of a previously healthy 18-year-old woman who consulted a team of gastrointestinal specialists.
She complained about pain and swelling in her abdomen, vomiting after eating and a 40-pound weight loss.Docotors did a scan and found out that large mass in her stomach, then they did an endoscopy and found out a large “bezoar occluding nearly the entire stomach,” wrote Drs. Ronald M. Levy and Srinadh Komanduri, gastroenterologists at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.A bezoar is a hairball.
“On questioning, the patient stated that she had had a habit of eating her hair for many years.”
“It seemed like she’d been doing this for several years,” Levy told CNN.
The woman underwent surgery to remove the mass of black, curly hair, which weighed 10 pounds and measured 15 inches by 7 inches by 7 inches, the doctors said.
Five days later, she was eating normally and was sent home.I will not post here the image of her”giant hairball” is horrible.

A group of Swedish women is making waves by taking their tops off at public swimming pools in a protest against what they call gender-biased rules on swim wear.
About 40 women have joined the network and staged topless protests in at least three cities, said Sanna Ferm, 22, one of the founders of the group called Bara Brost, or Bare Breasts.
“The purpose of the campaign is to start a debate about why women’s bodies are sexualized,” Ferm said Wednesday.
She said the fact that men can be bare-chested in public swimming pools but not women is “a concrete example of how women have fewer rights than men.” Read the rest of this entry…
